Ten days into the launch of the latest iteration of our beta platform, and after ironing out the initial kinks, we’re happy to see the new platform spreading its wings – making connecting with archive footage vendors and professional archive researchers even easier and more interactive.
Initial feedback from our community of users has been extremely useful, and we thank everyone who took the time to send us your comments and report bugs. This kind of engagement is exactly what makes the beta process interesting for us and makes the platform better for everyone.
For those who have yet to check out the latest version, sign in to check it out and update your profile. Here is a quick overview of the new interface and features:
Interactive Footage Request Dashboard
The new footage request dashboard was designed to give producers and archive researchers more visibility over the material they’ve received. Click on a thumbnail to screen material right in the dashboard. Compare footage from multiple sources without leaving this page. Easily keep track of new preview material, quotes or messages from archive content providers with simple notifications, and make sure you’ve followed up.
Easily Request and Quote to License Material
The new footage request page makes it easy for seasoned pros and producers new to licensing alike to follow up with archive providers and make licensing deals. Request a quote to directly receive a quote and licensing agreement or other use-based contract from the provider. Receive invoices and footage masters in one place.
Connect with Researchers Around the World
Researchers can decide whether or not to share their profiles to be contacted for research requests, and can take on assignments through Archive Valley.*
Select a country to see profiles of professional archive researchers around the world, and contact them for your projects.
Responsive Design For Tablet and Mobile (Finally!)
Yes. You can use Archive Valley on your phone now. All the functionality of Archive Valley’s web-based platform are available and easy to use on any mobile browser. (And it looks beautiful on tablet devices, if we do say so ourselves).
We look forward to delivering more features and continuing to improve the user experience of Archive Valley as we continue to grow and as we move from the beta to a premium service. We’ll be sending all of our beta users info on our packages and prices in the weeks to come, and don’t hesitate to contact us with your questions, feedback on the new version of Archive Valley, or just to chat!
See you in the Valley.
