for Docs and TV Productions.

OVERVIEW

Archive Valley Masterclass
#4

At Archive Valley, we see a lot of Film and TV professionals struggling with archival research. Yet, there is a growing appetite for archival-based stories, and a growing reliance on existing footage for unscripted and nonfiction productions.

Being unprepared to manage the archival complexities involved in a doc production can impact a project, its budget and its distribution. A lack of understanding can also prevents filmmakers from developing the (archival) stories they are dying to tell!

That's why we came up with a concrete solution that is quite unique in the film and tv industry: an online course about the ins and outs of archival research. After 3 successful editions and positive feedback from our attendees, we are happy to launch our 4th edition on November 30th.

Engaging and practical, the Archive Valley Masterclass has been built as a step-by-step guide. It is specially tailored to help Film and TV professionals deal efficiently with the many aspects of archival research, from pre-production through to master deliveries.

Over the course of this masterclass, not only will you learn about the entire process, including best practices from archive producers credited on high-calibers docs and series, but you will also come away with the confidence and organizational skills to best manage and oversee the archival research of your next productions.

Amongst our past attendees, we've been happy to welcome directors, producers, line producers, production coordinators, assistant producers, post-production supervisors, editors, as well as aspiring archive researchers.

The course suits all kinds of audiovisual projects and is particularly relevant for team members willing to get ready - and aligned - for their upcoming documentary or docuseries.
